How to get involved
Find your place in the battalion. Explore every team and duty area, then ask the team commander about practice and eligibility.

SECTION 01
Academics
Officer: c/ENS Evan Shor Assistant Officer: c/CPO Daniel Chiu
The Academic Team competes in Brain Brawls against other NJROTC units, preparing by studying naval science, military history, current events, leadership, citizenship, and geography across all NS I through NS IV subject matter. Members strengthen their knowledge while representing the battalion in academic contests.
SECTION 02
Supply
The unit's equipment and uniform management area. Cadets help organize, issue, inventory, and maintain uniforms, equipment, and other NJROTC supplies. Unit service hours can be earned here through volunteering and helping keep Supply organized. Supply is located in Building 56.

SECTION 03
Color Guard
Commanders: c/CPO Luke Franco & c/CPO Richa Karam
Cadets present and carry the national, state, and organizational colors at ceremonies and events. The Color Guard represents the NJROTC unit at school and community functions.

SECTION 04
Athletics
Officer: c/ENS Josiah Vazquez Assistant Officer: c/CPO Claire Huston
The Athletics Team promotes physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship by training for and competing in a variety of athletic events, including running, push-ups, and curl-ups. Members develop endurance, strength, and leadership while representing the battalion in NJROTC athletic competitions and preparing for unit PT and fitness tests.

SECTION 05
Drill
Commander: c/ENS Dolan Dunigan Assistant Commander: c/CPO Quinn Pappas
The Drill Team focuses on precision, discipline, teamwork, and military bearing through synchronized marching and drill routines. Cadets practice armed and unarmed movements and compete against other NJROTC units in local, regional, and national drill competitions.

SECTION 06
Orienteering
Officer: c/ENS Philip Roche Assistant Officer: c/CPO Ryan Spisak
The Orienteering Team competes against other NJROTC units in timed land navigation courses. Cadets use a map and compass to navigate unfamiliar terrain and locate checkpoints, building problem-solving, navigation, and teamwork skills while blending military navigation with cross country running.
